Girls Can’t Play Trumpet
Musicians have been hot sellers at Girls Can’t WHAT? and my request list for musical instruments is ridiculously long. That tells me that girls are rocking the world from all genres with all kinds of sounds!
I’ve been quietly working to fill that gap by adding more Girls Can’t WHAT? instrumentalists to the shop. The latest is a trumpet player. Once again, I am drawing a blank on famous female trumpet players. If you can point me to a few, I would greatly appreciate it. YouTube videos would be even better since it would nice to be able to hear them as well.
You can find this design on an assortment of cool t-shirts and gift items in the Girls Can’t WHAT? Gift Shop. Here’s a sampling of items in both the light and dark skin tones. Looking for a different instrument? Check out the music section for more.

of Ingrid Jensen, a female jazz trumpeter (who completely rocks, btw)
And a section on an all-female jazz ensemble called “Diva Jazz.” Here: http://www.divajazz.com

Alison Balsom is an amazing classical trumpet player. She’s my hero (I play the trumpet too).

I also am a girl who plays trumpet. I picked this instrument not knowing how hard it would be to overcome the boys telling you that you shouldn’t be playing the instrument. I see someone like Alison Balsom and/or Ingrid Jensen. They have inspired me not only as a player but as a female. It makes me realize how much BETTER I can actually be.

I am the only female trumpet player in the entire middle school band, therefore, the only female trumpet player in the jazz band, too. I am often ridiculed for being a female, and that the trumpet is a “male” instrument, but I don’t care, I’ve played since I was 6-years-old. I am also a section leader for both, and I think that this shirt is absolutely amazing and will DEFINITELY hit a nerve on the guys. (:

In my story the shining stars there are two women who are in the five peice all girl horn section, play the trumpet one is a lead trumpeter named Jill who played like both Manyard Ferguson, Doc Severstein and Artuo Sandoval. She also plays trumpet flugelhorn and the piccolo trumpet and uses trumpet mutes(Straight, Cup, harmon with stem, plunger, bucket, solotone, mel-o-wah mute and buzz-wow)
Another trumpeter is Patricia who is innocent and her mom and dad and even the band director told Patricia “Girls Can’t play Trumpet, they play the Clarinet!” but then she play the trumpet sneaking away from the piano. Patricia plays the trumpet but also the flugelhorn, the piccolo trumpet and the cornet . She used a harmon mute(no stem) and a cup mute

Another thing in my story Shining Stars Patricia also play the trumpet (even when she blew it between her legs)when she was Mazeppa from Gypsy during a Make a Diffrence performance called “Using the word “Retarted” with broadway songs”

Hi,
I’m a female trumpeter and I play many styles of music- classical, orchestral, jazz, very out contemporary improv, and ethnic music. Just wanted to write a note that girls (or anyone for that matter) can do it- whether for fun, or for a living as I do! Cheers, D
