Swimming against the tides of society

LGDS event w girls reducedI have been told many times that I can not or should not do something! In high school I took wood shop and made furniture instead of jewelry boxes, metal shop and continued into college learning welding skills.  I created a Bright Work business for maintaining boats in my late teens and did all the labor myself. I created a landscape design, construction and maintenance business while going to college and raising two children as a single mother.

I currently own and run Living Green Design Solutions a distribution company for architectural material and am raising 5 children with my husband. All I have to say is, it may not be an easy path when you choose to travel against the mainstream of societies ideas of what we should or should not be be ultimately extremely rewarding!

Girls in wood and metal shop. Now there’s something I never saw in my high school years. I wonder if that trend is changing more today?
