Kirti’s Niece was a Disappointing Birth

It’s not about what I could not do. I was raised in a home where gender was never an inability.

But when by sis just delivered her second girl child and I called my relatives to inform of this good news, one damn relative told me “..another girl? Why couldn’t she (my sis) get rid of her earlier?”

I kept this to myself all my life..but it makes my heart ache every day and I wanted to share it with all girls here! That little baby is one of the most intelligent and talented girl I have seen in all my life!

Oh my Gosh, that is truely heartbreaking! How awful… That’s not even just sexist; it’s plain cruel!

Kirti – thanks for sharing that. I am so glad you see things differently. It still blows my mind that people think that way. A baby is a life no matter what the gender. :)
