Strutting down the path to success with head and heels both high, Holly Elle is the latest rising pop singer to take a stand against discrimination, encouraging and empowering young women to embrace their inner and outer beauty.
The Canadian singer’s recent single “Freak” off her debut EP Infinitude is a catchy and electrifying synth-heavy club song with a strong message for all girls who feel like they might not “fit in” with the crowd. Alongside Holly, the video features gay high school students, amputees, little people and cross- dressers experiencing bullying. At the end of the video, Holly and friends are shown celebrating their self-acceptance dancing in t-shirts with words like “love, hope, freak and pride” on them. Made to make you move, the infectious song holds the message that even though people may label you a freak, it’s so much more important to be proud of your individuality and what makes you, you.
This gifted performer has been creating a buzz on the scene lately. She was previously featured on two Canadian music albums, has had her songs spun on radio stations across the US and performed at the Red Gorilla Fest during the 2012 SXSW music Festival. Last year, her single “Twisted” was featured on the hit Bravo network reality show Bad Girls Club and “Don’t Come Home” was most recently selected for MTV’s Real World: San Diego.
Graceful and bold as she wants to be, Holly wants us to know that we possess an amazing power and unique beauty that no one has the power to take away. We appreciate you Holly!
