The Dixie Chicks are back and they are hotter than ever! After three LONG years, the Chicks are releasing a new album titled “Taking The Long Way.” I love comebacks and the Dixie Chicks aren’t just sneaking back into the music scene, they are storming back in loud and proud!
How do I know? Listen to the single “Not Ready To Make Nice” on their web site. That rocks! I just love the fact that they are who they are and they make no excuses for that. Regardless of whether you agree with them or not, you have to give them credit for staying their ground.
Better yet – watch the video of “Not Ready To Make Nice” (also on their web site) and check out Natalie’s face when she sings “it turned my whole world around…and I kind of like it.”
If you are not familiar with the Dixie Chicks, you should be. Their albums are full of songs that everyone can relate to on one level or another. Many of their songs are on my all-time favorites playlist, including “Wide Open Spaces” and “Ready To Run.” And as soon as I can get my hands on their new album, “Not Ready To Make Nice” will make it’s debut into my collection.
“Taking the Long Way” hits stores in the USA on May 23rd and internationally on June 12th. The “Taking The Long Way” tour kicks off in London June 15th and a US tour will be announced soon. You can bet I’m getting tickets to this one! Who’s going with me? Hey – I wonder if they need a drummer…
