Dream Questions

This is just a starter set of questions. I intentionally kept it brief for the Opportunities vs. Distractions blog entry, but I will add more to this soon. Keep in mind that you are free to change your answers at any point in time. As you mature, you will find that you may go 180 degrees in the opposite direction on some of the answers. That is ok. Sometimes what we think we want something until we get a true taste of it. It’s ok to change your mind. My goals and desires change frequently. I redefine things as I see the need. The more I redefine, though, the more focused I become and the more my answers start to fit together. It’s a fantastic process and it’s really cool to look back and see how things do just fall in to place sometimes. I can also see that “falling into place” is a result of thinking through my “opportunities”.

Where will you live?

  • What kind of climate would you prefer?
  • Where do you want to live (big city, country, small town, etc.)
  • What kind of home do you want? (house, apartment, penthouse, etc.)

  • Do you like rigid scheduling or freedom to do as you please?

  • How old would you like to be?
  • What would you like to accomplish before you marry? (finish school, start a career)
  • How should he treat you?
  • What key areas should he be supportive of you (career, kids, hobbies, etc.)

  • Is there anything you can do to prepare for “Plan B.”

Travel

  • Do you like to travel?
  • How often would you like to travel?
  • How much time away from home is too long?
  • How many days/weeks out of the year would you like to be away from home?
  • Do you like to travel alone?
  • How do you prefer to travel? (car, plane, boat, train, etc.)
  • What kinds of costs are involved in your preferred style of travel?
  • Where would you like to visit? (be specific, don’t just write “Europe”, put “Eiffel Tower”)

Hobbies

  • What are your favorite activities?
  • If you had to pick ONE activity to be your absolute favorite, what would it be?
  • Does you favorite hobby cost a lot of money?

Plan B

  • If something happened (injury, illness, lost interest) and you decided to drastically change your dream, what other interests might you pursue? (you can add/change these at any time – just brainstorm for now).
  • What are some resources I can use if I have to revert to Plan B? Hint: girlscantwhat.com
  • Who can I count on to support me with Plan B?
  • If I have to give up Plan A for Plan B, will I be truly happy? Hint: If the answer is no, then you need to rethink
your Plan B until you come up with something as equally fulfilling as your Plan A.

  • I’m going to have to think through each of these questions and answer them.
