Just when you think we’ve evolved, news stories like this surface to remind us that some folks still don’t have their heads screwed on straight. Take the story of Sudanese journalist Lubna al-Hussein who is facing 40 lashing for wearing pants.
For real?
Ok so I recognize that in some countries women are not usually found wearing anything outside of a dress or religious garments, but to arrest 18 women and charge them with “wearing indecent clothes” because they opted for slacks instead of a dress is flat out ridiculous. What do you think?

Living in the past is right. That’s why I hate religion. The only way this world is ever going to see the truth is if they see Jesus, not religion. So many people got it wrong. Religion doesn’t get you closer to God, it takes you away from Him and the relationship He wants to have with you. We gotta go out there and tell people the truth, that there is salvation and hope!

So much of our culture is about preserving tradition and living in the past! SO many religions and cultures are completely against women being equal to men and being capable of holding their own. You’re right, it’s stories like these that just make you so frustrated with the world. But then you look at how far we’ve come, and it’s something to celebrate.

ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. It breaks my heart, in fact, to read this. How horrible, cruel, and inhumane! I just don’t understand how someone could be treated this way and I know that it happens all the time. So sad…
