Naomi is a Drummer

I play drums. Most girls don’t play drums and that is a hard thing for most people to accept.

Yeah, the electronic sets are cool for playing quietly. My family thinks it’s still annoying though because of the tapping on rubber.

I don’t have an amp for my electric set but I have headphones. I like to headbang but my headphones fly off sometimes! |-: I like to play music through the set and play to it also. It’s awesome!

I have both an acoustic set and an electric set. I love my acoustic set, but the electronic one is nice for quiet practice and I like all the gizmos on it for tempo and accompaniment. I also run my iPhone through the brain so I can play along with my favorite band. b-)

I would like to join skillet. I can create headbanger music and play intensely. The only thing I haven’t played yet is double bass and that’s because I don’t have it.

I’m saving to buy an acoustic set. I am borrowing an electric set from my best friends uncle (until his sons are old enough to play.) I have to be really careful with the electic set because I play hard. Electric sets are covered in rubber and my drumsticks are chipping on the rubber (I think that’s crazy!) my sister can’t wait until I play an acoustic set because she want’s the drumsticks. I don’t think they’ll be worth using after one or two times playing it!

That’s really cool that your dad supports you and lets you use your creativity. Let us know if you’re ever in a band or do any recording. :)>-

I forgot about Lauren. I don’t listen to BarlowGirl very much but my sister likes them. I’m more skillet and as I lay dying (heavy metal.)

I tend to like bands more if their drumming is good. (Skillet, As I Lay Dying, Pillar, Decyfer Down and Newsboys are some awesome bands.)

My dad practices with me sometimes. He has a band and he’ll play a new song and I’ll create a pattern and then he’ll tell his drummer about the pattern I created. I don’t create all the patterns though (-:

Lauren from the Barlow Girls is also a drummer and I’m certain there are other Christian bands with female drummers.

    My band has me. ;)

I have an electric drumset that my best friends uncle is lending me until his boys grow up. I’m really small so I look small behind an acoustic drumset and it’s hard for me to play because I have to reach so far (but I like acoustic sets better than electric.) Skillet has had two chick drummers but they’re the only christian band that has girl drummers.

So true! I play drums, too, and no matter where my band plays, someone almost always comes up to me and is fascinated to see a girl behind the kit.

It’s like they think the instrument is too big for us or something. And yes, I can carry my own gear. b-)
