Kasey Became a Go-Kart Champ

bakers field trackI race go-karts at Bakersfield Raceway in Linton, Indiana. In 2005 I was racing in the kids kart class for the first time. Everyone told my dad I was running a real good line on the track for a girl, but my parents believed in me and once I got the hang of it I was one of the best.

That December at the awards banquet they were announcing the champions and I heard them say “2005 kids kart champion is….” I wasn’t expecting my name to be called because boys at school always said girls can’t race but when I heard my name called I went up to get my trophy and it was just about as tall as me and this story has led me to where I am today I am runner-up for Bakersfield raceway 2009 jr.2 champion. For updates on my racing schedule and my points placing go to: Bakersfieldraceway.com.

Thanks, Kasey Sowders
