Last week, Samantha Larson became the youngest person on record to climb to the summit of Mount Everest. Samantha, who climbed the peak with her father as part of the “Seven summits challenge” has now officially beat the challenge record set last year by 20 year old Rhys Miles Jones.
Samantha has been climbing since she was a kid and has reached the peaks of mountains such as Aconcagua in South America at the age of 13 and Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa at the age of 14.
Driven to excellence in everything she does, Samanatha has been known to practice her oboe in the snow on climbing treks as well as study to keep her grades up. It has obviously paid off as Samantha graduated near the top of her high school class and is planning to attend Stanford University in the fall. The picture is not fake, nor does it claim to be on Mt. Everest. It’s just a picture of Samantha. ;)

That pic is obviously fake, she would be freezing to death if she wore that on mount everest, look at the mountain , where is the snow? Exactly!

OK this is cruel going on and on like this is very inmature im probolly younger than all of you and I can understand who is right and who is wrong. At that time samantha was the youngest person to climb but her record has been broke OK? So going on and on about a never ending thing won’t get you no where now will it? My dream is to climb mount everest and that’s that. And I beleive that this site was created so that people can share there dreams and thoughts about the mountain not to carry on about who beat what record and so on I spent my time writing this note and I hope my opinion counts because I believe that everyone has an opinion and that it should be heard just not in a negitive way. If you have read this letter I thank you for you time.

Well Gretchen young Sherpas have Ben summating scenic mt everest has first Ben summated and they start at age 13 some even earlier and their are girl Sherpas so get your facts straight be for arguing

I’m not arguing. At the time this article was posted a couple of years ago, the information came from reputable news sources. Whether it is correct or not, I cannot say for sure.
