Even though I am older and grew up in a time where children were seen and not heard, and a woman’s “dream” in life was to find a “good man” and settle down, I’ve NEVER been one to settle.
In hind site, I think even as a little girl, I was quite boy crazy, and I figured out that if I was “one of the boys” I could hang out with them and get lots of attention….even when they went through the “girls are icky” stage. I played with Hot wheels, not dolls, I built forts, not Barbie dream houses, and the list goes on.
As a teen, I took wood shop as well as my art classes. In college I worked construction as a framer. Later I played pool for a “Men league” and we took “State” several years in a row back in the 80’s. This attitude has followed me throughout my life.
I now do freelance artwork for my main living, but also do some building, remodeling, and upholstery. I am also building a couple of shops at CafePress (cafepress.com/bambisdesigns) and (cafepress.com/colorthis) that will hopefully help supplement my income because this spring I am selling everything, and my daughter and I are moving out of the country and going to build a little Inn/restaurant/bar on a beach.
You see, I have raised her with the same beliefs. There is nothing anyone can’t do (guy or girl) if they put their mind to it and believe in themselves.

Pool! Thanks for the reminder. I really want to do a billiards design soon! I love to play and so do my girls. We have a pool table in our game room.
