Erica Was Told She Was Too Weak For Track

discusI was told that I would never make it on the track and field team at school.  I wanted to try shot put and discus, but my brother and his friends who did it told me I was too weak. They are football players and are used to the workouts. I was a little discouraged, but I talked to some of my friends who were doing other events on the team. They reassured me and I found the confidence to try out.  I went to conditioning and practices everyday. I stayed after and worked with the coaches and other throwers.

The listed was posted last Friday. I made the team! It was the best feeling in the world.  Just knowing that I had proved everyone wrong and that I had enough talent and drive to accomplish what I set out to do.

  • Good work!!I completley agree knowing that you made it when people say you can’t and you won’t is one of the best feelings you can have.
