In my world, March is full of birthdays – including mine. Today happens to be my daughter Katelynn’s 9th birthday. We’ve already had the party and the gifts, but I wanted to add something special to her day, so here it is…Happy Birthday, Katelynn! Mommy is finally going to let you visit her web site and the first thing you get to see is your name in lights! (And just so you don’t think I am a total geek, I’m also planning to bring her favorite lunch to school and ice cream sandwiches for her class, but she knows that already.)
Here are some highlights about the birthday girl…
Katelynn is a very talented artist. I will post some of her artwork here someday. She is especially good at drawing people. Recently she wrote a story for her Young Author’s contest called Girls Can’t WHAT? about a girl who worked on a web site all day. Hmm…I wonder where she got that idea. The pictures are very detailed and colorful.
Besides art, Katelynn plays soccer and will be starting gymnastics soon. She also likes to read and is working her way through the Chronicles of Narnia series by CS Lewis. Katelynn’s strength is that she likes to help people. She says when she grows up she wants to be an artist, a nurse, a ‘baby doctor’ (obstetrician) and maybe a teacher.
(Note – My girls are somewhat Internet savvy but they have only been able to get sneak peeks at Girls Can’t WHAT? until today. Now that I have completed the backend and have been adding content, I have added this site to their safe bookmarks. I’m wedged between Barbie.com and Spykids.com. Woo hoo! Kirstie likes to move the bookmarks around so we’ll see where I end up on the priority surfing list.)
