On my recent vacation, as I was churned through the throngs of people at amusement parks and tourist traps, I couldn’t help but notice the number of folks sporting a variety of interesting ink designs. I’m neither for or against permanently inking oneself, but I have to admit I wonder sometimes what would posses people to choose some of the decorations that they do.
Tattoos are personal and they should mean something special to the person to whom it is attached. I also think the design should clearly reflect that meaning so others viewing it can understand the passion behind the mark. Don’t you? Afterall, this is forever (or at least until you can afford to have it removed if you so desire).
If you were to get a tattoo, what would it look like and what would it mean?

I would never get a tatoo…they’re just not me…but the type that wash off (which I’m not against) I really like zodiac signs and the sun or moon…they’re really cool.

I hear ya. I can’t even commit to nail polish and it’s not permanent. On the other hand, I have seven piercings in my ears. Go figure. /:)

I have been struggling with the wanting-not wanting a tattoo. Its not the pain that I’m afraid of, its the idea of someone else DRAWING on me, and not being able to wash it off if they goof.
I would love to have something that is a part of me in ink…. a piston/rod in detenation would be perfect. But I just can’t get past the permanence yet… or where to put it.

I’m pretty sure I could never bring myself to get “branded.” :P Needles and ink and the idea of purposely inflicting pain upon myself (aside from giving birth, that is) just seem rather pointless. :D (But that’s me.)
And I don’t think a soapbox would look very eye-catching, at any rate. LOL ;)
