I wasn’t allowed on my school’s lacrosse team!!

I’ve been playing lacrosse since I was about 3 years old, and I’ve loved it ever since. When I got to a high school that had a lacrosse team, I went to try out, but they wouldn’t let me join the team. It made no sense to me, because if they were going to let me try out, why wouldn’t they let me join? The coach’s reason was that I was a girl and he didn’t think girls should be on the team, because the team had been boys only since the school had opened. My school is currently in a heated debate on whether or not I should join, and I’m hoping I get to join the team, but I would like to know if any of you would give me support in this.
