Just today at school the boys got to sign up for flag football. Now being a girl, I’m very into the whole makeup fashion kinda of thing. And the coach was saying that JUST THE BOYS can sign up and I’ve always wanted to play football.
So I went to go sign up and the coach said no! And i said why not? He said because you’ll get hurt and “GIRLS SUCK,” yes he said that! I was very mad and he’s like well they get softball and I said I don’t want softball I wanna play football. He’s like “but your a cheerleader.” I was like “I don’t care”. Then he’s like “that’s like me wanting to sign up for cheerleading”, and that’s when I said “there’s nothing wrong with that there are boys all over the world who are cheerleaders”. So it should be the same with girls playing football. And he was all like “nope that’s not happening go do your cheerleading thing and stay out of the boys way”.
How sexist is that? I was super mad?!
Any suggestions?

thats ridiculuos im a girl and next year im doing regular football so i dont see why you shouldnt be able to play flag. i suggest you tell the princible that has to be discussed he shouldnt be able to do that

OH MY GOD, that’s what i want to play too, but i can’t find anywhere that i can go to play, i can’t believe he said that to ur face. What a jerk, did you tell your parents or principal? Cause you totally should, and i like cheerleading and football, so he should just shut up cause he doesn’t know hwta he’s talking about.

That is ridiculous. Your parents can call an attorney. If the school realy said that you can sue them. Ask about discrimination laws & your school district/coach.
Generally speaking it is against Fedral Law for them to say that.

:o I can’t believe your coach said that. But I was in high school and i was going to try out but my mom said no. If your parents are cool with it you take it to the TV and newpapers. Let them see your side. I’m sure you’re not the only girl who wants or has ever wanted to play. If guys can do it, girls can too. Sometimes they even do it better! I’ll be praying for you but get some publicity and I’m sure he’ll change his tune!:d/:d
