Nancy Was Told Playing Football Isn’t Ladylike

I’m 16, and my parents don’t like me playing football because they say it’s not ladylike, so I’m stuck playing catch with a football, which isn’t the same…. I would be more into sports if it wasn’t because of that. I also like to go to shooting ranges with my dad because I enjoy handling guns, I even have a bullet on a chain around my neck….

  • Honey I get that exact same load of crap everyday. “why can’t you act like a proper young lady?” quite honestly, it’s most fun to do the complete opposite. Be yourself. Like my mother said “couldn’t you look like a girl for one day?” on the first day of high school and I promptly dressed in my basketball shorts and old hockey jersey. Act how you want to be, not how a proper young lady would act!!

  • they are not totally oppossed to it well at least my dad isnt they just try to discourage the behavior. And I think my dad is actually secretely pleased about my interest in firearms, since my brother isnt that much into that.

  • Ok, if your parents allow you to go and shoot, which sounds like a lot of fun, shouldn’t you be allowed to play football?

  • A

Are you parents totally opposed to you playing or do they just prefer you not do it? If you want to play and they will allow it, then why not go for it? If you love it, then pursue it! b-)
