Personalized Basketball Gifts for Girls

Before I introduce these new personalized basketball gifts for girls, I want share my own story of playing on the boys team in junior high.

Girls Can’t Play Basketball

When I was in the 6th grade, we did not have a girls basketball team. So I did the next best thing.  I tried out for the boys basketball team.

And I made it.

So did another girl in my class.

To say it was easy would be a lie.  It was kinda rough.  The boys tolerated us, but only because the coach really pushed them to be accepting.  We heard some put downs, got ignored and passed up for plays at times, but overall it was a pretty good experience.  It was jr. high – need I say more?

Today will be my daughter’s first basketball game.  She’s in the 8th grade and decide that this year she would try out for the girls team at school.  I’ve been working with her on lay-ups and free throws.  She’s a lefty and I’m ambidextrous so I’ve been helping her with right-hand moves.
